LOVE….we’re all looking for it right? You know that other half that makes us whole. The one who completes us and gives us googley eyes and butterflies; makes us want to get up in the morning to smell their stank breath and cuddle with, you know our soul mate.
Often times I sit back and think if everyone is so in love then why is everyone so hurt? Isn’t love supposed to make you feel the complete opposite of pain? Why are there so many divorces and bitter people if love is supposed to be one of the greatest feelings on Earth?
Could it be that people are all falling in love with the image of what society portrays as love. Are they measuring what they see and hear on TV as the radar of what love is supposed to look and feel like? Or is it that people are just staying together for all the wrong reasons? Comfortability…..Wealth……Finances……Appearance…..Pity……Guilt?
Are they really defining love by what it truly is? Love is patient, love is kind, it does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud, it does not dishonor. (1 Corinthians 13: 4-8)
I mean think about it, if there is a such thing as a true soul mate, wouldn’t that person be the yin to your yang? The salty to your sweet? Your best friend? Now, don’t get me wrong love does have it’s ups and downs, but in the end, it fights for itself it never fails. If TV and the media are the representation of what love is then boy…..we are all screwed.
