Williamsburg

While I was in Williamsburg last week with one of my favorite girlies, we came across this super cute and quaint thrift store nestled on the street corner. I just knew we had to go in and check it out. While my friend kind of rolled her eyes and shook her head at me because she knows I love to shop she agreed reluctantly. Needless to say, we ended up spending over an hour in the store and walked away with over $250 in merchandise combined. Let me just be very clear, $250 in thrift store money is like 8 million dollars shopping retail lol. Ok… Ok…. maybe not that extensive but we racked up.

This colorful coat is one of the gems I snagged while shopping. My friend kept saying it was so unflattering but I just had to have it. So I debated for a little while, put it back a few times, which is something you NEVER I repeat NEVER do in a thrift store because someone is bound to snatch it up and your gem becomes their gem. But as I approached the counter to pay for my other items this sweet old lady said “You only live once, get the coat before I do” that’s all I needed to hear. Now it’s all mine!!!!

 

Crushed

What a whirlwind of a month it has been and I mean that in every sense of the word. Whewwwww Lord! You guys just don’t know. I don’t really want to go into too many details but I’m just so happy things have turned around and are looking up. One thing to always remember when you’re going through something really hard is there are people who are in tougher situations than you are. I know, I know it sounds sooooooo cliché, and the situation you may be facing seems so real to you, but if you can find some sort of light even for a millisecond during those tough times it helps. It’s so important for us to count it all joy and lean on our faith and trust in God. He truly is the One who fills us up and helps us.

I don’t want to sound like I’m preaching but God is sooooooooo good guys really, really, really good. On a lighter note, I am completely crushing over this velvet trend. I picked up these boots and a few others (soon to come to the blog) a few weeks ago and I am in love. They truly are perfect for fall and winter. I decided to pair them with this oversized sweater from Zara for a more relaxed feel. Perfect fall look! Talk to you guys soon. Toodles J

Omg guys I completely almost forgot to tell you I picked up Jefree Star’s highlighter “King Tut” and let me just tell yall when I say that highlighter is poppin it is P.O.P.P.I.Nnnnnnnnnnn ok thank you mammmmmm because that highlight goodness is nothing to play with. If you have a few extra dollars ($29 to be exact) please pick this up you will not regret it. I am wearing it in today’s look. Ok fa real bye!

Lemonade

You guys know the saying “When you love something, buy it in every color”. Well I say when you love something buy it in every color AND buy it twice if need be. I know you’re probably thinking “huh Star?” but yes I’m serious. These shoes I am absolutely in love with this season. So, I went out and bought them in taupe and black (see previous posts). O! and this two piece well it’s actually just two of the same shirt. GENIUS! I know, I know I try just a little lol lol just kidding. I thought it would be cute to step out the box a little and try something different and I love the way it turned out.

The Center

Hey my fashion lovers I’m back and on top of the bed of a huge truck! Why not!!! Live a little! Lately I have been sticking to very simple tones and patterns, white and black to be exact. I’m a firm believer you dress how you feel and as of late I guess you can say I’ve been wanting to keep things very simple. Why? Because you’re the happiest in life when you don’t have the dramas of the world weighing you down, whether it be work, relationships, and/or family. You have to always find your center in the midst of those stressors and do what’s best for you. Remember you will always burn yourself out worrying about everyone else’s happiness but your own! While everyone else worries about what’s beneficial to themselves.

 Often times keeping it simple can be very difficult however, anything or anyone that does not add value to your life or allow you to grow you have to cut it off and find your peace. That does not mean it won’t hurt but in the end it’s the best thing for you. Find what makes you truly happy, like ice cream on a hot day, finding money in your pocket when you’re broke, flowers from your secret admirer, a hug, a kiss, or simply snagging the last pair of shoes you’ve been wanting online! Simplicity at its best. 

2016

It’s officially 2016 can you believe it? A new year always brings a fresh start. This year I am looking forward to embarking on more projects than I have done in previous years. It’s all about being fearless and going for it even if it feels scary. I’m excited for a year of continued positivity, confidence, growth, and determination. 2016 will be great I decree and declare.

Wild Cat Makeup Tutorial ---- Follow On Instagram @MsStarStyles for the Final Look & Video

Your going to start out with a freshly washed clean face.

Using a primer of your choice apply product all over your face as a base.

After your base has been completely rubbed into your skin grab your favorite concealer and conceal under your eyes, above and below your brows, and other places you may have blemishes.

 Foundation Time...... apply foundation all over your face and BLEND....BLEND....BLEND.... Set it with a powder of your choice.

Using a brow pencil fill, fill in your brows a little darker than you normally would for your everyday makeup.

Go back to your concealer and conceal directly under your eyebrows. This will give the brows shape and enhance their look.

Now using a bronzer, contour the hollows of your cheeks to give your face some depth. I’m making this kissy face so you guys know exactly where to apply your bronzer.

After contouring, use a pretty pink light blush to apply to your cheeks. Do this very lightly just to give your face a little color. SN: please excuse my busted nails it’s definitely time for a mani lol ;)

Now it’s time to have fun…. Prime both your eyelids with an eyelid primer. This will ensure that your makeup stays on all night.

Starting with a subtle brown your going to apply this color directly to the crease of your eyelids.

Using an off white eye shadow apply this directly to your brow bone and the inner corners of your eyelids.

Now using a black eye shadow create a very dramatic winged cat eye. Making sure you do not apply the shadow to your eyelid.

Using a gold loose pigment apply this color directly to your lid and blend out.

Take a felt tip liquid liner and darken the wings of your lid and line your top and bottom lids.

Draw a downward wing in the inner corners of your lids using your liquid liner , then fill it in.

It’s Falsieeee Timeeee…. Take your favorite lashes and apply, Then using mascara apply this to your lashes so both the fake lash and your lash will blend.

Using a dark brown apply a strip down the sides of your nose on each side and BLEND…BLEND…BLEND… this will create the illusion of having a skinner nose just like a cat.

Using a black liner start drawing your cat nose and fill it in. Then draw black dots on both sides of your nose.

Draw your whiskers on and make a face like mine lol lol lol

Continuing with your black liner draw small C’s, U’s, circles and dashes along your forehead and sides of your cheeks. This will give you the spotted effect.

Using the gold pigment you applied to your eyelids fill in the dots and circles. Oh! and add white liner to your waterline for that POP effect.

Your almost there.

Using a red lip liner line your lips then apply your favorite matte red lipstick.
