Crushed

What a whirlwind of a month it has been and I mean that in every sense of the word. Whewwwww Lord! You guys just don’t know. I don’t really want to go into too many details but I’m just so happy things have turned around and are looking up. One thing to always remember when you’re going through something really hard is there are people who are in tougher situations than you are. I know, I know it sounds sooooooo cliché, and the situation you may be facing seems so real to you, but if you can find some sort of light even for a millisecond during those tough times it helps. It’s so important for us to count it all joy and lean on our faith and trust in God. He truly is the One who fills us up and helps us.

I don’t want to sound like I’m preaching but God is sooooooooo good guys really, really, really good. On a lighter note, I am completely crushing over this velvet trend. I picked up these boots and a few others (soon to come to the blog) a few weeks ago and I am in love. They truly are perfect for fall and winter. I decided to pair them with this oversized sweater from Zara for a more relaxed feel. Perfect fall look! Talk to you guys soon. Toodles J

Omg guys I completely almost forgot to tell you I picked up Jefree Star’s highlighter “King Tut” and let me just tell yall when I say that highlighter is poppin it is P.O.P.P.I.Nnnnnnnnnnn ok thank you mammmmmm because that highlight goodness is nothing to play with. If you have a few extra dollars ($29 to be exact) please pick this up you will not regret it. I am wearing it in today’s look. Ok fa real bye!

Black Out

This past weekend was pretty awesome, I attended BeautyConNYC for the first time and let me just tell you it was a makeup lovers dream. If you’ve never been you have to go! So many of my favorite makeup companies were there Milani, Lime Crime, NYX, Luxie, Laura Geller, and so many more. Not to mention the swag bags were amazing as well as the freebies and discounted prices. I will definitely be going next year. The following day I got up with my favorite girlie for drinks at a cool little spot in Brooklyn. Across the street I spotted this red wall and just knew we had to snap pictures. So we did, and then enjoyed dinner and girl talk!

Monochromatic Vibes

I seriously cannot get enough of this Olive color. So I decided to just plaster it all over my body  because it’s just that awesome lol lol. Keeping it very monochromatic in today’s post. I seriously love the monochromatic trend it’s easy and looks so simple and chic. Who wouldn’t love that combination? On another note I got an amazing new job this week that I’m still in shock about. God definitely answers prayers and comes right on time. So things have been busy busy busy lately with me jumping into the flow of it all but I am elated.

Stripes on Stripes

Because it’s only right I stand on a ledge and almost break my neck and scrape my knees while everyone walking by watches for the sake of a blog picture. Makes sense right? Perfect sense! lol the things I do….

Heyyyyyy everyone so happy to be back posting a new outfit. I like this two piece so much just because it gives me multiple vibes. I’m thinking office with a blazer, date night, out with your girls, meeting a new guy, or just because you want to get dressed up and look cute, that never hurt a girl right? It just depends on the occasion and how you’re feeling. You can pair it as separates or combine the two like I did today for a full on striped mix. Either way it’s a great fit to have in your closet. 

Transition

Good Day Beautiful People! And Happy February! What I love most about February besides Valentine’s Day of course, is knowing that Spring is right around the corner, a little over a month to be exact. It’s like I start itching to play with different colors and mix and match patterns and textures. So I wasn’t surprised at all when I came across this 60’s inspired baby doll top. I knew I had to it. I kind of say that about everything tho lol lol lol!!!!! Guess that’s the reason I’m a blogger. Anywho…. I love how this top is winter friendly but adds the perfect pop of cream to give it that Spring appeal. Not to mention it can be paired with just about any color under the sun and still work. That’s what I call a transitional piece! As winter is SLOWLY coming to a close and Spring starts peaking it’s head out during late March start looking for pieces that can be worn now and then to maximize your closet and get more bang for your buck.

 

2016

It’s officially 2016 can you believe it? A new year always brings a fresh start. This year I am looking forward to embarking on more projects than I have done in previous years. It’s all about being fearless and going for it even if it feels scary. I’m excited for a year of continued positivity, confidence, growth, and determination. 2016 will be great I decree and declare.  

Shades of Chic

Hey….hey…..heyyyyy it’s me again J I recently ran across the workings of Walter Wayne Dyer, an amazing author and motivational speaker. Let me first start by saying I wish I would have had the opportunity to meet this man and/or attend one of his conferences before his passing in August. If you’ve never heard of him you’re definitely missing out. So let me be the first to introduce you. Enjoy!

There are certain people who come into this world…and there are certain things about them. Certain qualities they possess. There’s a certain way they go about their life. They are very seldom understood. They listen to an inner voice that only they can hear… “I came here with a purpose. I came here with something that I HAVE to do.” That’s your soul speaking… The question is… How willing are you to pay attention? How willing are you to listen to that inner voice that no one else can hear?

Dormant forces, faculties, and talents come alive and you discover yourself to be a greater person by far than you ever dreamed yourself to be.

There is something inherent in each and every one of us, that allows us to know that life is worth living. Whatever it is that creates that excitement within us is really our connection to God.

Fall is Here

Its officially Fall, the temperatures here in New York have starting getting cooler and it’s the perfect timing to swap out the short shorts and usher in your leather pieces. I went for sleek with this look; you can never go wrong in all black.

Denim On Denim

I have always loved the denim on denim trend. So casual but chic. Something you can throw on to run errands or for a relaxed date night with the beau. I picked up these high waisted  jeans about a year ago from H&M and have worn them well over 2o times. You  can probably say they’re one of my favorites. I paired it with my denim button up shirt and tied the front to give it a little sass and Whaaa Lahhhh simple date night look made easy J

Black-n-White

I’m back… I know I have been M.I.A for about 2 weeks, I had been battling a cold that had me out for a few days. All I was eating was chicken noodle soup and lots of orange juice. I think it’s the change of the seasons that had me under the weather. I’m feeling a lot better now still have a sniffley nose but I managed to take some time out to shoot a few pictures the other day. Blogging always seems to make the day better even when battling a cold.

On the flip side of things, I picked up these killer Steve Madden booties about a week ago. I was so excited when I  received them in the mail, because I was kinda  stalking the site since their release. Don’t judge me! Their rugged, have a great platform, and lace up past the ankles. My kind of bootie. Not to mention they scream PUNK! Which is normally not my style but it’s always good to switch things up every now and then. I have some exciting news to announce in the next few days so stay tuned for what’s to come. In the meantime, in between time enjoy today’s post.  Xoxo
