How to Treat Sunburn

Since summer is officially here that means bathing suits are coming out the drawers, and your flocking to the pools and beaches everywhere. Well....here are a few tips on preventing sunburn while you enjoy the summer heat.

1. The most practical tip is to apply sunblock or sunscreen prior to going outside so that you don't have to worry about getting burned. I always use a sunblock with SPF 100 just so I know I won't get burned. Banana Boat makes a great line of sunblocks with SPF 100.

2. If you feel that you have been sunburned apply aloe vera gel to the burned area it will cool some of the burning sensation.

3. Apply Noxema it works really well on sunburns and it will remove the stinging sensation.

4. Drink lots of water, if you are suffering from sunburn it more likely that you will become dehydrated faster than someone who isn't.

5. Use olive oil to keep your skin moisturized and to prevent peeling.
